Rebecca Lynn Davis, LCSW
Rebecca Davis, MA, LCSW, LiCSW, SEP, is a Black, Indigenous, and queer therapist living in the Pacific Northwest. Rebecca is on faculty at Portland State University in the School of Social Work. She is an Assistant Professor of Practice and co-lead of the Advanced Clinical sequence and associated electives. She is a radical change maker at artic LLC, an organization determined to change the trauma-informed care paradigm to include the trauma of racial harm. She is also an inaugural research affiliate with SPHERE— Scholarship Praxis Health Equity Resistance and Empowerment. She is the former owner of Therapy, Altered, a clinical group practice focused on centering clinicians and clients holding multiple, marginalized identities who have a lived experience of harm.
Rebecca is committed to radical embodiment, particularly for and with BIPOC individuals and groups. Play is the language of her work. She is a somatic practitioner and is a Somatic Experiencing (TM) Session Provider at the Beginning Level.
Rebecca holds expertise in trauma treatment and has years of experience to share. She offers consultations and mentorship opportunities for clinicians from all backgrounds who are seeking to deepen their clinical practice and skill, and gain skill in working with trauma, particularly DID and the dissociative disorders.
Rebecca is an activist and applied theatre maker. Rebecca teaches and guides varying forms of drama therapy, including running DvT PDX, the Portland Developmental Transformations Training Institute. After nearly 13 years of study, Rebeca will be earning her RDT credential (Registered Drama Therapist) in 2024. She also is actively engaged in Theatre of the Oppressed.
Rebecca is the founder and creator of Developmental Tarot, and provides teaching in using the tarot as a tool for mental health and self witnessing.
